I think its a good idea but I'm not into the bride and groom Figures on top of wedding cakes. I they are quite old fashioned and may seem less tacky. I would buy a personalized However, the cake topper - it would be nice to be able to design something go to top of the cake, which is different traditional colors and shapes.
